Collaboration

Due to the community's familiarity with the site as a funeral home, Svigals + Partners set out to reinvent the structure, with the goal of changing local perceptions of the site while converting the building into an inviting Federally Qualified Health Center.

Design Highlights

The building’s new identity greets arriving clients with a light-colored stucco exterior in lieu of the previous dark brick and a canopy over the entrance finished in wood and steel that beckons passerby, “like a hand reaching out in welcome.”

Result

The building is not only more inviting and approachable, the full-gut renovation of the interior has allowed CSHHC to provide access to medical and dental offices as well as behavioral health programs all under the same roof.
