When this New Haven-based biopharmaceutical company expanded into the mid-Atlantic, they re-engaged S+P who had creatively harnessed juxtaposition to reimagine an early 1900s landmark building into a modern headquarters ideal for an innovative company with deep academic and industry roots.

Biohaven’s new space would be designed for their highly mobile workforce. Together, S+P and Biohaven developed a program that balanced the spatial needs of each user group taking into account individual, group, and leadership functions.

Art Integration

Biohaven’s environment artfully articulates its bold, rapid-response nature in elements ranging from a sculptural ”communicating stair” connecting the two floors, and custom perforated panels that relate the space to their New Haven headquarters.

Result

Designed to be flexible and dynamic, the stunning result features a wide variety of workstations, conference rooms, an expandable training center, pantries, and casual spaces that together create a vibrant setting for innovation and leadership.
