But as legislation stalls in Washington, some schools are looking for a different solution. Changing the building themselves: a $48 million dollar design with features meant to deter an active shooter. 'Crisis Architecture.' Higher walls. Higher tech cameras. And in some cases, smoke canons. All with the hope of preventing another deadly shooting.
But one school in the aftermath of a horrific tragedy in 2012, took a different approach. … Sandy Hook School.
