Interior Designer
As an Interior Designer, Melissa brings to the Svigals + Partners team nearly a decade of experience at design firms in Connecticut, with an expertise in design and project management across corporate and healthcare sectors. She imbues her life-long love of the arts into her designs, always striving to deliver environments that positively impact their users.
Aware of Svigals + Partners’ reputation from years working in the New Haven area, Melissa was drawn to S+P’s team culture, collaborative design process, and community-focused projects. These elements coincided with why Melissa is partial to interior design, in particular collaborating with interdisciplinary consultants as a project “comes to life” from drawings and concepts into a physical entity.
With an affinity for the arts, Melissa found interior design to be an ideal avenue to pair her fine arts drawing skills and altruistic values. Being able to exercise her artistic brain while also creating experiences directly aimed at improving local communities provides both professional and personal fulfillment.
What You Might Not Know
Melissa has been dancing as long as she has been walking, taking classes all the way through college. She still dances to this day and has even recently performed on stage.
Melissa first met her husband while they were both babies. Their moms were pregnant at the same time, and they were born within two weeks of each other.
